Children from Mrs North’s class have been remembering Shropshire’s fallen by writing their names on left over poppies. The poppies will be used to create a giant remembrance sculpture dedicated to the 5,286 names on the Shropshire Roll of Honour. The sculpture will be unveiled in early 2018.

Afternoon Tea
Eight lucky children were treated to afternoon tea in Mrs North’s class having won a class reward coupon.

Madeley Academy Open Day
Year 6 were invited to Madeley Academy this morning for their annual Open Day. Children were given a tour of the different departments of the school by its staff and students, taking part in a range of activities to showcase to the children what Madeley Academy is all about.

How will we learn without pens?
It was a very different day for everyone. Throughout the day the children completed various activities: used IT, to research Cadbury World; Maths practical problems, to find out the speed objects travel; English, recited poetry and PE, with the coaches.
Year 6 completing a mind workout problem
Everyone has enjoyed working on Roman numerals this week in class. So much so, Year 6 wanted to solve a problem. Tricky work converting from Arabic to Roman then Roman to Arabic in calculations.
